Ohio State football recruiting: Buckeyes add four-star Jantzen Dunn to loaded No. 1 class in 2021 cycle

Even with no on-campus or face-to-face visits perpp says Liverpool veteran James Milner has a few more years in him.The 33-year-old was an integral part of the Reds dressing room last season, helping his side win a Champions League trophy. And Klopp added that he could see Milner cutting his teeth amitted, has been cleaning up on the recrm’s Inter Miami.Hart, third choice at Burnley, has had an unhappy time since Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ditched him in 2015 saying he was not good enough with his feet. The 32-year-old, who has 75 England caps, has been an unused sub in each ouiting trail. The Buckeyes have the , per 247Sports, and just continue to add to its impressive group. The latest addition is Jantzen Dunn from South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Dunn made an announcement of his verbal, non-binding commitment to Ohio State on his Twitter account Monday. One of the top 250 players for next year’s class, Dunn is the third-ranked player in Kentucky and the 15th-rated athlete in the country.

In all, Dunn marks the seventh player to commit to Ohio State since mid-March, about the time the nation pivoted to social distancing — and later, sheltering in place — in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Six of those pledges have come from blue-chip prospects of either four or five-star caliber. The highest rated of those recruits is .

Since we’re still a good eight months away from the early signing period, quality matters more than quantity at this stage in the process. However, Ohio State has both. Of the 17 players currently committedristol City star impressive in the Championship last season, scoring three goals in 47 appearances. However, the defender would cost the Saints roughly £30 million if they were to make a summer move, per the Bristol Post. The 24-year-old is a key memb to Ohio State, 15 are of the blue-chip variety. The only exceptions are tight end Sam Hart and cornerback ; even still, they are rated as some of the best athletes in their respective states of and .

The Buckeyes have always recruited well enough to win championships, but this would mark a significant win if they’re able to hold on to this top-rated class. The last time 247Sports crowned a team outside the SEC with the top class was 2008 (Miami).

James Kennedy, high school football fixture who inspired 2003 movie ‘Radio,’ dead at 73

James Kennedy, who inspired the movie “Radio,” . He was 73.

Kennedy was a staple at South Carolina high school T.L. Hanna’s football games dating back to the 1960s. John Cann, T.L. Hanna’s Athletic Director confirmed Kennedy’s death .

The statement from the school noted that Keited midfielder Ethan Galbraith deserved his debut. The 18-year-old was promoted from his country’s Under-21s on Thursday and ended up coming off the bench for the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Luxembourg in a friendly at Windsor Park.O’Neill sainnedy, who was mentally disabled, showed up on the field as a teenager and became a “fixture” on the sidelines at games. First, he was just showing up, then he was mimicking the signals and calling out plays. As he kept showing up, his relationship grew with coaches and teammates.

Kennedy was best known for loving the teamker arrived in the summer from Olympique Marseille. And Monchi says: “At a game in Milan, I fell in love. Roma had won, but Lucas had a great performance. From this game, we seriously began to follow him. When we analysed the situation, we found that .

From the school’s statement:

It would be easy to talk about all the school did for Radio, but the miraculous thing about this story is what Radio did for the school. It is perhaps a lesson of which all of us need to be reminded. Because he was embraced by caring people, he was stimulated to learn. Because he was loved, he found his place in the world. Because people looked past his disabilities and imperfections, he found a way to make his own unique contribution to the world.

Kyle Newton, a spokesman for Anderson School District 5, commented on the impact Kennedy had on the community.

“Radio was the heart and soul of T.L. Hanna for over 50 years, and the impact he made in our community can’t be overstated,” . “He will be missed, but his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.”

In the 1960s, Kennedy made regular appearances at games and formed a relationship with the team that gained attention across the state and eventually across the country. Suarez a “rat”.Suarez heads back to his former club for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie, having scored in a 3-0 first leg win.The Uruguayan was criticised by some sections of the Liverpool supporters for showing no respect toHe earned his nickname “Radio” because he was often seen holding a radio while walking.

His story lead to the 2003 film “Radio” in which he was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr.

“He was just a fine, fine man” Harold Jones, the former coach who was featured in the movie, . “We all loved him. We will miss him incredibly.”

ACC backs Big Ten proposal to allow every athlete a one-time transfer without sitting out

The ACC announced Monday that it supports a proposal from the Big Ten that would allow undergraduate student athletes in all sports to transfer once without sitting out of competition for one year. The current rule mandatesunfazed about where he will play this season. With Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of him on the depth chart, Arsenal are considering loaning the 20-year-old despite his impressive form this preseason.Nketiah almost joined RB L that undergraduate transfers in football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and hockey must receive a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible immediately. Players in the remaining sports are allowed to transfer without sitting out.

“During the league’s annual winter meetings (February 12-14), the ACC discussed the transfer environment and unanimously concluded that as a matter of principle we support a nnar Solskjaer is demanding full commitment from his players in preseason.Solskjaer and his backroom team have drawn up a hard-line pre-season diary to ensure there is no repeat of the fitness issues which were such a problem last term. And the manageone-time transfer opportunity for all student-athletes regardless of sport,” the conference said in a statement. “As a conference, we look forward to continuing the discussion nationally.”

The statement comes three weeks after news broke that the Big Ten .

“I think it’s the right thing to do,” athletic director Warde Manuel told CBS Sports. “I don’t know who’s going to freak out and who’s not going to freak out. That doesn’t come into my thinking about it.”

It’s the latest in a concerted effort by the conferences and the NCAA to provide more structure to the rising trend of players transferring within FBS. The transfer portal was instituted in fall 2018 which allows players to input their names into a database that allows opposing coaches to contact them about potential opportunities within ot joined the battle for Benfica defender Ruben Dias.Having already closed a deal for Porto stopper Eder Militao, Real are returning to Portugal for Dias. That’s according to Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito.Inda sayher programs.

“We have five sports that are not allowed to transfer in this day and age. That is something we need to fix,” Manuel said. “We need to give all young people flexibility to transfer once. If they transfer a second time, there is no waiver.”

The process became murky last offseason when high-profile quarterbacks transferred from to after one season and moved from Ohio State to Miami as a result of Fields’ presence in Columbus, Ohio. Both players surprisingly received immediate eligibility waivers from the NCAA.

CBS Sports reported last month that the NCAA will not hear transfer-related proposals during the 2019-20 academic year

Illinois vs. Cal: Live stream, watch online, TV channel, Redbox Bowl kickoff time, odds, prediction

The Redbox Bowl last year featured a defensive slugfest that saw  edge past in a contest that ended with a 7-6 score. This year might not be a whole lot different, actually. Cal enters the game at 7-5, and it’s gotten here while averaging only 20.1 points per game.  sits at 6-6 on the year and has scored 27.3 points per game. Those averages respectively rank 117th and 77th in the country, respectively.

So, you know, I wouldn’t expect a lot of offensive fireworks. What might be a surprise is that thality, for footballers to play for multiples clubsnho for his role in the decisive fourth goal for their Champions League triumph over Barcelona.Liverpool used their ballboys to full effect on Tuesday night as a quick Trent Alexander-Arnold corner set up Divock Origi for the winner against Barcelona. And they did so for the same reasons that persist today; better pay, longer contracts, change of scenery, trophies.Even legends synonymous with one club donned another jersey. Bobby Charlton played ese two schools have played 10 times in their history with Illinois holding a 7-3 advantage. Cal has won the last two meetings, however, with the last game being a 35-20 Cal win in 2005.

After a stretch that saw Cal reach a bowl game only twice from 2010 to 2017, Justin Wilcox’s program has reached a bowl game for the second straight season. The Bears got off to a hot start to led a bid of €25m for the Belgium international. The offer was made after it was announced Stephan Lichtsteiner would be leaving at the end of the month.Gunners boss Unai Emery worked with Meunier at PSG and sees him as the ideal replacement for Licthe season, opening 4-0 with wins over both and . They struggled down the stretch, however, losing five of their last eight, but they did win their final two games of the regular season. Like the Illini, the Bears have been inconsistent and dealt with injuries. Their defense has been the most reliable unit on the team, and when it plays well, Cal tends to do so as well.

Redbox Bowl prediction, picks

How can you not take a touchdown-plus against a Cal team that’s averaging only 20 points per game? Illinois has gone 6-1 against the spread as an underdog this season, including three straight up wins. Cal is 2-4 ATS as a favorite. In what should be a low-scoring game, the only logical play is to take the 7.5 points.

College Football DFS for Week 11: Best DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy CFB picks, lineups

Might you consider going with them in your DFS lineups over superstars going up against loaded defenses like and ? Before you make your Week 11 college football daily Fantasy picks, be sure to check out the optimal college football DFS strategy from daily Fantasy millionaire Mike McClure.

McClure uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every snap of every game, taking factors such as matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best DFS values and create optimal lineups for sites like DraftKings and FanDuel that he shares only with members at SportsLine.

Last week, McClure had running back in his FanDuel lineup as Dillon rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout win over . Anybody who has followed McClure has seen some huge returns. Now he’s turned h in victory at FA Cup opponents West Ham.Townsend’s rasping early strike proved enough to send the Baggies through to the fifth round, although the Championship leaders had enough chances to win by a much bigger margin.“It’s nice to finally get oneis attention to Week 11’s action.

In Week 11, one of McClure’s top college football DFS picks is quarterback . Since earning immediate eligibility after transferring from to Ohio State in the offseason, Fields has delivered on high expectations as the Buckeyes starting quarterback. Fields has accounted for 33 total touchdowns on the season, while throwing just one interception. He’s thrown for 1,659 yards while rushing for 319 more yards through eight games despite rarely playing in the fourth quarter.

This weekend, the over , so Fields might not be on the field late in the game if things go as planned. However, the Maryland defense has struggled so much this season that it shouldn’t take much longer than a half for Fields to get his numbers. The Terps have allowed at least 498 yards of total offense to , , and this season and have given up an average of 42.6 points per game in Big Ten losses in 2019.

Part of his optimal CFB DFS strategy includes rostering wide receiver . Dave Clawson’s Demon Deacons have been lighting it up this season, averaging 510.6 yards of total offense and 38 points per game. And Hinton’s development as a wide receiver has been key to ting out a return to Celtic one day.The left back, who signed for Arsenal from the Hoops this summer, has never hidden his love for the Scottish giants. While he is delighted to make his big money Premier League move anmes Wilson back at Pittodrie. The striker spent last season on loan in the north of Scotland. He has now returned on a permanent deal after being released by Manchester United. He told Aberdeen’s official website: “I’m delighted to have James back.”He id get a chance to shine against the success of it all.

The former quarterback has a growing chemistry with current quarterback and Hinton, and give Newman one of the most talented receiving trios in the nation. Hinton has 43 catches for 497 yards on the season, but he’s been especially hot of late with 26 catches for 322 yards in the last three games he’s played. On Saturday, Hinton gets a secondary that has been torched for 361 passing yards per game in the last four contests.

McClure is also targeting a player capable of putting up tournament-winning numbers because of a dream matchup in Week 11. Picking him could be the difference between winning your college football DFS tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.

Notre Dame vs. Navy odds, spread: 2019 college football picks, predictions from simulation on 109-75 run

The No. 16 will look to continue their mastery of the No. 23 when they meet in a non-conference matchup on Saturday at Notre Dame, Ind. The Irish (7-2) are 11-0 at home since the start of the 2018 season, while the Midshipmen (7-1) are 2-7 on the road over the past two seasons. The game is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET from Notre Dame Stadium. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 78-13-1. The Fighting Irish are favored by 7.5 points in the latest Notre Dame vs. Navy odds, while the over-under for total points scored is 55.5.You’ll want to see the college football predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model before laying any Notre Dame vs. Navy picks down.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen huge returns. Over the past four-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of over $4,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. The model enters Week 12 of the 2019 season on a strong run, going 109-75 on all its top-rated this season. Anybody who has been following it is way up.

Now, the model has dialed in on . We can tell you the model is leaning under, and it’s also generated a strong against-the-spread pick that cashes in well over 50 percent of simulations. .

Notre Dame crushed the Midshipmen, 44-22, the last time the teams played on Oct. 27, 2018, at San Diego. The Fighting Irish piled up nearly 600 yards of offense, led by quarterback , who completed 27 of 33 passes for 330 yards and two TDs. Notre Dame also rushed for 254 yards. The Fighting Irish, who are perfect at home, are looking for their 17th straight home victory. Their 16-game stanes goalkeeper coach Joseba Ituarte has hailed the potential of Andriy Lunin.Lunin has spent the season on-loan at Leganes from Real Madrid.”He is ready to play at the top level in LaLiga,” Ituarte said of the Ukrainian on Radio MARCA.”I see him as reak is the third longest at home since Notre Dame Stadium opened in 1930.

Senior wide receiver is having a LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has again taken aim at his former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. The former Manchester United striker told Gazzetta dello Sport why he doesn’t get on with Manchester City boss Guardiola:”When we faced each other, he hid,” recalled the Swede. “He waited for me to pass and then get out of the locker room. “As a coach he is a phenomenon, but as a man…”monster season, leading Notre Dame with 42 receptions for 651 yards (15.5 average) and five touchdowns. He has been impressive at home, catching 24 passes for 352 yards and three TDs. The past two weeks, he has 13 receptions for 215 yards and one TD, including an eight-catch, 118-yard effort against .

But just because the Fighting Irish have dominated the Midshipmen through the years does not guarantee they will cover the Notre Dame vs. Navy spread on Saturday.

That’s because Navy has also been dominant this season, outscoring opponents 321-145, an average of 40.1 to 18.1. The Midshipmen have had a winning record in seven of the past eight seasons and have compiled a 94-59 record in 13 years under coach Ken Niumatalolo.

Leading the way on offense for Navy is senior quarterback , who gives opposing defenses nightmares. Perry leads the Midshipmen in rushing with 1,042n permanently on-loan midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.Estadio Deportivo says when asked about Lo Celso’s situation, Haro admitted there is an undeniable benefit for Tottenham to activate the option to buy before it becomes mandatory as part of the deal i yards and 16 touchdowns on 157 attempts. In Navy’s last game against , Perry carried 11 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Alabama vs. Michigan 2020 Citrus Bowl matchup features compelling Nick Saban vs. Jim Harbaugh showdown

Following the unveiling of the and  on Sunday came the unrelenting wave of all other bowl announcements. One of the most noteworthy games this postseason features two heavyweights playing for just the fifth time in their respective, storied histories. Sunday afternoon, the Citrus Bowl announced that it would pair No. 13 and No. 14 . The game will be played on New Year’s Day at 1 p.m. ET in Camping World Stadium in Orlando, .

Nick Saban vs. Jim Harbaugh. It may not be in the playoff or the New Year’s Six, but it’s hard to find a more compelling matchup of coaches than those two.

This marks the first time the Crimson Tide and Wolverines have squared off in the postseason since the 2000 Orange Bowl — a 35-34 overtime win for the Wolverines featuring some quarterback named Tom Brady, who threw the game-winning touchdown. In all, Alabama and Michigan have met three times in the postseason. The two other previous matchups include the 1997 Outback Bowl, a 17-14 win for Alabama, and the 1988 Hall of Fame Bowl, a 28-24 Michigan victory.

The two teams last played one another to open the 2012 season, which was far less compelling: a 41-14 statement by the Crimson Tide in Arlington, .

This Citrus Bowl will be fascinating. With so many draft-eligible players, how many of thealencia, he has revealed. The forward initially had plans to return to his native Spain after making it clear that his future lied away from Newcastle towards the end of last season. However, Perez instead ended up remaining in England, signing for Brem opt to forgo their eligiba boss Dean Smith is delighted with what he’s seen from Douglas Luiz.Following the signing of Rodri from Atletico Madrid, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was unable to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes the side’s defensive frailties will eventually get exposed. The Blues are on an excellent run in the Premier League, which has taken them up to third in the table on goal difference from Leicester City. They are offer the 21-year-old guaranteed playing time, meaning the decision was made toility and skip the bowl game? Even though Saban vs. Harbaugh is must-see television, this could be more of a glimpse of what’s to come for both the Crimson Tide and Wolverines in 2020.

College football games, Week 7: It’s prove-it time for Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and LSU

Jalen Hurts wouldn’t crack. Oklahoma’s quarterback started his media availability this week with a statement instead of taking questions.

“Look, I just want to say the culture here at Oklahoma is centered on us playing to our standard and us playing our football,” he said.

Nothing earth-shaking except his is body language said more than anything he actually said. Short answers. He looked to be bouncing on the balls of his feet standing behind the podium. In other words, the player some folks think is the best in the country is ready to prove himself again.

That’s the theme of perhaps the best weekend of this season. Four games involving ranked teams. One of the biggest in Dallas at the Red River Showdown.

At stake is more than the Big 12 lead. No. 11 Texas is No. 6 Oklahoma’s biggest hurdle before a possible third straight College Football Playoff appearance. The Longhorns have to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They actually look at this latest Cotton Bowl meeting as revenge. Texas broke through last year in what was then Sam Ehlinger’s best game. It then dropped the rematch in the Big 12 Championship Game.

“It took a lot of convincing, psychologically, to convince them that your best is good enough,” Texas coach Tom Herman said. “When we play our best, we can go toe to toe with anybody in the country. There’s a lot more confidence in that statement than there was a year ago.”

Meanwhile, Hurts has been in a season-long mode of proving he is something more than the guy who lost the starting job to Tua Tagovailoa. Hurts has emerged as a weapon just as impactful as Kyler Murray, if not more. Heading to the halfway point of the season, he is also the Sooners leading rusher (on pace for 1,000 yards) and leading the nation in yards per play (12.2).

Any doubt whether he can handle the cauldron that is the Cotton Bowl against Texas should be dismissed. Hurts has played in the Iron Bowl and won a national championship — as well as a couple of SEC titles.

“I’ve experienced some things,” Hurts said. “I’ve experienced some things. I’ve seen a lot. I don’t take it for granted.”

Pro Football Focus rated Hurts No. 2 nationa League clubs are on red alert as it emerges Barcelona are planning a £220m-plus clearout this summer.Mundo Deportivo says Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham look most likely to profit from the major clear-out, with Philippe Coutinho lly, calling him “the nation’s most feared deep passer.” That is a label he never had at Alabama. One more mind blower: Hurts has yet to have a pass dropped on him this season.

It wouldn’t be Oklahoma-Texas week without the requisite smack talk. Texas safety B.J. Foster went out of his way to warn Hurts “to slide … or it’s not going to be good for him.” Foster better make sure he can cover his man. The Horns are fifth-worst nationally against the pass despite four interceptions last week againsh Feyenoord.Ex-Watford winger Berghuis harbours hopes of a “dream move”, but Van der Vaart has told him to think carefully. “I think he should stay with Feyenoord. He is the man there, the team is built around him,” Van der Vaart said.“Do you havt West Virginia. “In general, in life, when you make emotional decisions it hurts you,” Hurts himself warned.

I got this text from an LSU fan this week: Saturday inuesday night’s Champions League round 16 first-leg clash with Napoli.“We have to expect the best version of Napoli, in these games teams give their all,” said Setien in his pre-game press conference.“Tomorrow will be a difficult game for both sid BR is shaping up to be an all-time day … We are doing a bigger than normal spread and pulling out all the stops. Sounds like bring-your-own-security-guard territory at the always-wild LSU tailgate scene.

That’s because No. 7 Florida is being asked to beat two top-10 teams in a row. The Gators will have to hold off the Tigers defensive line, which they certainly didn’t do against Auburn. It’s just assumed that Florida’s offensive line this year has to be coached around. Quarterback Kyle Trask was lucky to survive Auburn last week with only a mild MCL strain.

“I honestly didn’t know what I was about to hear. I was ready to hear the worst, I guess,” Trask said. “All the outsiders can say what they want. That’s the way it is. On that topic, I think this win will wake everybody up that this is a real team.”

Night game. Death Valley. The Tigers will roll and continue a journey that could end with a division title.

It’s hard to pick the wide receiver for No. 1 Alabama at the midway point. Jerry Jeudy’s yardage numbers are down (career low 12.84 yards per catch) only because he is being targeted by opposing defenses. Let’s go with Devonta Smith for the All-America team (as of now). Remember Smith? He’s the guy who caught the championship-winning pass against Georgia as a freshman. No. 24 Texas A&M is having a hard time running the ball after the injury to Jashaun Corbin. Kellen Mond has fallen off from his 2018 numbers. The Aggies secondary won’t be able to cover those receivers because no one has yet.

No. 17 Iowa has to get its manhood back after allowing eight sacks at Michigan. However, No. 10 Penn State leads the country in tackles for loss (10.4). In the last decade, two teams have averaged double-digit TFLs over a full season — Miami in 2018 and Clemson in 2014. Watch out Nate Stanley. Again.

The Trojans are going to No. 9 Notre Dame with gums flapping. USC WR Michael Pittman Jr. , “… it’ll be fun when we’re running up the score.” The Irish have won five of the last seven in the series. Backup quarterback Kedon Slovis returns for USC.

Colorado coach Mel Tucker said he’d take Oregon’s Mario Cristobal as a . Both coaches are ripped. It’s the Buffaloes who can expect a pounding at Autzen. The No. 13 Ducks (4-1) are the Pac-12’s best CFP hope and is a  10-point favorite Friday night.

No. 8 Wisconsin should arrive at midseason undefeated and bowl eligible. Fresh from a beating at the hands of Ohio State, Michigan State won’t be able to stand up to this. Wisconsin has yet to trail in a game at any point this season. The Badgers defense has allowed four touchdowns. The defense has scored three. That unit is No. 1 in stop rate (92.3 percent). That’s the ratio of drives that end in a punt, a turnover or turnover on downs. Jonathan Taylor’s 16 total touchdowns through five games are the most by an FBS player since Ricky Williams’ Heisman Trophy-winning season at Texas in 1998. Those defensive numbers will sit well with the CFP Selection Committee if the Badgers make it to consideration stage.

Arizona’s Khalil Tate hasn’t won a Pac-12 offensive player of the week award since grabbing the honor four consecutive times in a row in 2017. We mention this heading into the Washington game because Tate is coming off 487 yards of total offense and five touchdowns (three passing) against Colorado. Is the old Tate back? The Wildcats, Kevin Sumlin and maybe Pac-12 football have all been rejuvenated by Arizona’s 4-1 start. The ‘Cats can stay in first place in the South with a win.

No. 15 Utah at Oregon State. Beavers WR Isaiah Hodgins is having an All-America-type season. Oregon State is coming off one of its biggest Pac-12 wins in years (at UCLA). Quarterback Jake Luton was the Pac-12 offensive player of the week. The Beavs aren’t pushovers anymore. A win keeps them in second place in the Pac-12 North.

It’s been over a year since Florida State (at No. 2 Clemson) has entered a game with a two-game winning streak … Texas Tech (at No. 22 Baylor) is coming off its first home win against a ranked opponent (Oklahoma State) since 2013. That includes all three seasons of Patrick Mahomes (2014-16) … Putting the Big 12’s round-robin schedule in perspective. It will take South Carolina 10 years to cycle through the SEC West. Auburn and Florida hadn’t met in eight years. Oklahoma and Texas play each October because they have to … No. 19 Wake Forest (home vs. Louisville) enters a game ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2008 … Wideout Devin Duvernay is the highest rated Texas player on the entire roster, per PFF. Duvernay hasn’t dropped a pass since 2017.

Coaches Poll top 25: Penn State makes move into top 10 of college football rankings

There wasn’t much shake up at the top of the college football rankings after Week 6, and the new Coaches Poll has no movement in the top three with Alabama at No. 1 followed by No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Georgia.

The coaches were much more split on the first-place votes between the Crimson Tide and the Tigers in last week’s balloting, and while both teams were off it was Alabama that strengthened its hold on the top spot in the poll with 42 of the 65 available first-place votes. Ohio State, which moved up one spot to No. 4, received three first-place votes.

Florida and Wisconsin each moved up one spot within in the top 10 following wins while Penn State moved up two spots to crash into the top 10 at No. 9 following its win against Purdue. One of the biggest drops in this week’s Coaches Poll was for Auburn, which fell five spots to No. 12 following its loss at Florida.

The bottom of the Coaches Poll sees a few new arrivals, with SMU, Baylor and Minnesota all landing in top 25 and Arizona State making its return at No. 24.

Michigan vs. Notre Dame score, takeaways: No. 19 Wolverines dominate No. 8 Irish in rainy Big House

No. 19 Michigan just put together its best win of the season, dominating from start to finish in a 45-14 victory over No. 9 Notre Dame in the Big House. The victory was Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh’s second against a top 10 opponent during his time in Ann Arbor, Michigan, while Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly falls to 4-12 against ranked opponents in true road games.

A heavy rain throughout the first half put severe limitations on what either offense could do with their passing attack, but Michigan established a 17-0 first half lead behind total domination at the line of scrimmage on both side of the ball. Notre Dame had its hands full trying to bring down the dynamic duo of running backs Hassan Haskins (20 carries, 149 yards) and Zach Charbonnet (15 carries, 74 yards, two touchdowns). When the Irish did force Shea Patterson into third-and-long situations, he was able to come up with enough key throws or scramble for first downs.

The game first turned when a Notre Dame fumble set up Michigan in scoring position, though the Irish did a good job of holding the Wolverines to a field goal. Then when Michigan got the ball back, it did not even attempt to throw it through the heavy rain, running on all eight plays of a touchdown drive that gave the Wolverines a 10-0 lead early in the second quartee midfielder is interesting Atalanta this summer. And he told Foot Mercato: “Today, I’m in Southampton. I still have three years of contract. But it’s true that I do not rule out the possibility of going elsewhere. The last four months have not been er.

Notre Dame can blame the conditions, but Michigan had to play in the conditions, too, and found ways to be successful. This is the most disappointing performance of the season so far for the Irish, and for it to come against a rival after having the off week to prepare for the game doubles the hurt for Notre Dame fans.

Here’s three things to know about Michigan’s big win.

: The Wolverines are now 2-10 against top-10 teams under Harbaugh, and that’s not insignificant considering the context of Saturday night’s win. Harbaugh was the subject of coaching rumor mill chatter, and the conversation of a supposed “exit strategy” had enough reach for him to send a letter to parents calling the claims “total crap.” To follow that week with a win against a top-10 opponent both calms any consternation in the moment and adds a signature win for fans during a season where the Big Ten — and beating Ohio State — appear to be out of reach yet again.

Harbaugh’s teams have been able to beat up on less-talented opponents throughout his tenure, but punching up has not been where his program has had great success. The rain indeed played a huge role, but to have Michigan better prepared to deal with the elements suggests the coaching staff and the locker room are not being shaken by what Harbaugh has described as “enemies”

It’s been suggested by that Michigan’s offensive transition was bound to have some growing pains, and expecting everything to click in early September might have ignored the challenges inherent in making dramatic changes with a mostly experienced unit. Something seemed to click in the second half of the Penn State loss, though, and we saw Patterson again look comfortable running the offense and the offensive line open up running lanes for Charbonnet and Haskins. When you pair that with a Michigan defense that has been at an elite level these last couple weeks, it’s a good recipe for Michigan to start racking up wins in November as its approaches that epic regular season finale against Ohio State in A is among the goalkeepers being considered by Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, who urged the club on Friday to sign players with Premier League experience this month.Smith was due to meet chief executive Christian Purslow and sporting director Jesus Garcnn Arbor.

The Irish are going to be in the mix for a New Year’s Six bowl, but the chances of finishing in the top four of the College Football Playoff Rankings at the end of the season after losing both at Georgia and at Michigan are slim. Notre Dame needed a split, at minimum, between these two primetime road games against quality opponents in order to have wins that might compare to other one-loss teams. With two losses, Notre Dame falls into a far less exclusive club of teams that also will likely not be in the mix for a top-four spot at the end of the season.

Jim Harbaugh suggests Michigan could play a game in a different country in the near future

Jim Harbaugh is no stranger to taking his teams to different countries during the offseason, but now he might be doing the same during the regular season. While speaking at the podium during Big Ten Media Days on Friday, Harbaugh might have spilled the beans on a future international announcement when he was asked if he whome from training after he missed the 6-0 win over Tranmere. The attacking midfielder, 19, was among the substitutes but failed to make it onto the pitch in the FA Cup fourth-round riot at Prenton Park. The Sun reports after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left ould be interested in a future game in Mexico City.

“Sure. Yeah, you know, we like travel. Mexico City would be great.” . “I know you can talk about this, we’re scheduling — I think we’re really close to announcing, actually, playing another team on foreign soil. I won’t say what it is because — have you heard anything about this? Then I’d better not say it because we’re probably not ready to release that yet. But I think there’s something really imminent. There will be an announcement soon on that.”

Who are they playing? Where will it be? When should Wolverine fans start making travel arrangements? Those qal Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is demanding Gareth Bale be sold this summer. That’s according to Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito.Inda insists Zidane doesn’t want to be work with Bale next season. He declared: “Ziduestions linger after Harbaugh’s slip of the tongue, and might not sit well with commissioner Jim Delany.

Harbaugh has taken his players on international field trips in each of the last three offseasons. The Wolverines traveled to Italy following the 2017 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to withdraw Daniel James from the frontline.Solskjaer fears the Welsh winger could risk burnout or serious injury if he carries on.It was thought he would be eased into Premier League life after a £20m move from Swansea thseason, visited France — with a stop in Normandy — following the 2018 season and made the journey to South Africa in May.

There has not been an announcement on any future offseason destinations for the Wolverines. But an international trip during the season seems like a distinct possibility.

LOOK: Miami debuts new Turnover Chain after recovering fumble in opening game vs. Florida

Just about every college football team has some type of turnover gimmick they break out following a takeaway these days, but they all originate from Miami’s Turnover Chain a couple of years back. Just because you’re the originator of something, though, doesn’t mean you can’t it at a loss. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona tried and failed to sign Neymar over the summer. Indeed, Barca have since confirmed they had two offers for the Brazil captain rejected by PSG.But on the set of El Chiringuito, pundit Francisco Buyo revealedmprove upon it.

Miami debuted an updated Turnover Chain — as they’ve done every year since its inception in 2017 — during Saturday’s Week 0 game against . With the Gators already up 7-3 and knocking inside the red zone, the Hurricanes recovered a fumble at their own 7-yard line and stopped some early bleeding. As such, they broke out this gorgeous new gem on the sidelines:

The 305, of course, represents the area code for the Miami area. Per Miami, the new charm weighs 500 grams while the chain itself weighs two kilograms. The 305 charm is roughly 10 inches wide and contains more than 2,000 white sapphire stones. In all, the chain took aboaha admits his “head was all over the place” after proposed summer moves to Arsenal and Everton collapsed over his club’s £80m asking price. He said: “I’m seeing how it goes. The first recipient of the chain was defensive lineman . It’s a feel-good moment for him as well, as the redshirt senior has battled injuries and position switches over his career with the program.

Here’s a look at all three turnover chains since 2017. Personally, nothing will probably ever beat the original “U” chain, but this is a solid runner-up.

It didn’t take long for the Turnover Chain to be unveiled for the Hurricanes this season. Here’s hoping it’ll be brought out many more times before the year ends.

Former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin joins the Volunteers as an assistant coach

In 1998, Tee Martin helped lead to a national title as its quarterback. Over 20 years later, Martin has returned to Knoxville hoping to do it again, but this time he’ll be doing so from the sideline.

Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt announced Saturday that Martin officially had joined his coaching staff.

What’s not known as of yet is what Martin’s role will be. The release from Tennessee said his title and duties would be announced “in the coming days.” A quick look at Tennessee’s coaching staff on its official website shows that the team doesn’t currently have a QB coach, so it’s possible Martin could serve in that role as well as the co-offensive coordinJurgen Klopp has again spoken of how happy they’re with Joel Matip.Klopp has hailed Joel Matip as “one of the best, incredible pieces of business we’ve done”.Matip joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Schalke in the summer of 2016, and will be stator along with fellow new member of the staff, Jim Chaney. Martin has been coaching wide receivers since 2010 but did begin his coaching career as a QB coach. He also spent the last three seasons as offensive coordinator at USC. “I want to make sure everyone knows that I’m doing just fine,” he said. “My blood sugar was low and I went to the hospital just to be cautious. I appreciate all of the support that I’ve received.”

Even though the illness was not related to heat, Maryland’s training staff did place Boone in an ice bath and take proper steps to treat him on site.

This comes on the heels of a tragic year for the Maryland football team. Offensive lineman suffered symptoms of heat stroke last May, and diS) will officially award Sacramento an expansion franchise next week, according to the Sacramento Bee, reports, /.The local newspaper says the North American soccer league will hold a press conference and fan event in California’s capital city on Moned in June. An investigation revealed that the training staff did not take immediate action to treat McNair on site, and let nearly an hour pass before emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

Further investigation into the culture of the football program revealed that former coach D.J. Durkin — who was suspended in August and fired on Oct. 31 — operated a program with a culture of fear that included coaches embarrassing players in a variety of ways.

Mike Locksley was hired as Durkin’s full-time replacement in the offseason, after one season as the Alabama offensive coordinator and three years on the Crimson Tide staff. He previously served on the Terrapins staff as offensive coordinator from 2012-15. He was the interim head coach for the final six games of the 2015 season.
