The German tactician is pleased to see the early understanding between the two players.
Jürgen Klopp is fascinated by the early showings of synergy between Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho, after watching the two players during the pre-season friendlies.
Coutinho’s future has been a subject of strong speculations as Barcelona are reportedly interested in the Brazilian amid Neymar rumours linking the Catalan to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Coutinho captained his team against Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion and once again impressed with his ability to distribute the ball. The ‘Magician’ freed himself from opponent players and provided a stunning assist for Salah, who wrapped up the final 3-0 for the Reds.
Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Klopp was more than delighted by the understanding of his players.
“I think players like this understand each other.
“It’s a good thing with having players of this quality. I was pleased but it was what I expected.Jurgen Klopp rates Pep Guardiola as his greatest rival Andrew Smyth – Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that his Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola is the best manager that he’s ever coached against.
“The pass was nice and the finish was not too bad also.”
The German manager also said that Liverpool’s new signings are probably underestimated by the masses, but he was happy with their impact on the games.
“The new players are maybe better than people thought they will be,” he added.
“I think we said early that we want to build on the squad from last year, and that’s what we’ve tried to do. For the moment, we’re really happy.
“We don’t have many injuries now, which is the best news and if we can stay fit, we can be very strong.
“Unfortunately, the other teams are also really pretty strong in England, so we have no choice but to be at our highest.”
